About The Job
The Risk Underwriting Analyst I supports risk functions by monitoring portfolio performance and participating in development and enhancement of underwriting strategies. The role involves cross-functional collaboration to implement and optimize solutions, as well as delivering analytical insights through reports and presentations that inform business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Data Management & Reporting . Collect, clean, and prepare risk-related data for analysis and reporting. Maintain and update recurring reports using Excel and basic SQL queries. Assist in compiling data for compliance and regulatory reporting. Support documentation of policies, procedures, and internal frameworks.
- Credit Risk Analysis . Assist in reviewing automated credit decisions, escalating exceptions as needed. Analyze financial and non-financial data to assess creditworthiness. Conduct basic portfolio checks and highlight unusual trends. Participate in product risk discussions and document findings.
- Underwriting Strategy. Assist in data gathering and documentation for underwriting strategies (e.g., scoring models, segmentation). Learn and apply internal risk frameworks, systems, scorecards, and tools. Support senior analysts in understanding and applying underwriting policies.
- Cross-selling & Opportunity Identification. Identify cross-sell opportunities from credit data and perform basic affordability checks based on set criteria. Support customer targeting efforts by optimizing process for eligible clients for additional products or services.
- Technical and Project Support . Coordinate with internal stakeholders to fulfill data requests and support minor projects. Provide administrative support for risk assessments and internal initiatives.
Communication and Presentation . Prepare internal team updates and assist with presentation formatting for meetings and stakeholder communications.
What You Need To Have
- Previous work experience is not explicitly required, though some part-time or junior experience from relevant position will be considered an advantage
Basic to intermediate knowledge in MS Office and SQL
- Good project management experience and Good organizational skills and Problem Solving Skills
- Advanced data analysis and Strong attention to details
- Work experience from international company or Fintech/Finance Experience
- Credit Risk Management experience
