Job Description
Residential Draftsman – Revit
Remote
Pay: $9.00/hour
Full-Time | U.S. Time Zone
Industry: Residential Construction / Panelized & Modular Construction
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Residential Draftsman with experience creating construction drawings for residential projects.
You will work closely with the Architectural Design and Drafting Manager to prepare accurate construction documents, permit sets, and panel fabrication drawings.
Your drawings will be used by the production and installation teams, so accuracy, attention to detail, and a good understanding of residential construction are very important.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and update 3D concept drawings and detailed floor plans
• Assist with construction documents and permit submittal packages
• Review plans and complete revisions as needed
• Produce detailed drawings for panelized residential projects
• Create framing layouts, panel elevations, sections, and connection details
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, production teams, and field teams
• Prepare permit drawings and make revisions based on jurisdiction feedback
• Review redlines and update drawings accurately and on time
• Make sure drawings meet manufacturing requirements and installation needs
• Maintain organized drawing files and standards
• Identify possible construction or design issues before drawings are released for production
Required Qualifications
• Experience with residential drafting or residential construction
• Experience using Revit — required, or must be able to learn quickly
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or SketchUp
• Good understanding of residential wood framing and structural systems
• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural plans
• Familiarity with IRC and local building code requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to complete projects from start to finish
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Good English communication skills
• Willing and able to work during U.S. business hours
Preferred Experience
• Panelized or modular construction
• Residential framing systems
• Permit-ready construction drawings
• Panel fabrication drawings
• Manufacturing-based construction workflows
• Value engineering and material optimization
• Rendering software
• Coordination between design, production, and field teams
• Degree in Drafting, Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
Ideal Candidate

You should be able to take a project from initial drawings through revisions and final construction
documents while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
