The Retail Media Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across SurroundCast's in-store media offerings, including In-Store Music (Retail Radio), Ambient Scents, and Visual/Screens.
This role owns the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching to closing and expansion while working closely with Account Management and Operations to ensure smooth campaign delivery and long-term client success.
The Sales Manager builds strong relationships with retail partners (Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, Sales), brands, agencies and suppliers, translating marketing objectives into effective, culturally tuned in-store media solutions. The role also supports strategic upsell and cross-sell opportunities, including collaboration with sister company, Homonym (Audio Marketing Solutions) where appropriate.
This is a performance-based commission-bearing role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (TL;WR):
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Own and manage the end-to-end sales cycle for SurroundCast's retail media solutions
- Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets across assigned accounts and categories
- Proactively identify new business opportunities (e.g., In-store Ads) with brands, agencies and retail partners
- Develop tailored proposals, media plans and pricing recommendations aligned with client objectives and internal margin targets
- Drive upsell and expansion opportunities across music, scent, and visual touchpoints
Client & Agency Relationship Management
- Act as a trusted advisor, deeply understanding client categories, retail environments, and campaign goals
- Represent SurroundCast in client meetings, pitches, industry events, and networking opportunities
- Ensure high client satisfaction by aligning expectations early and collaborating closely with internal teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers, agencies, media planners and decision-makers
Campaign Planning & Delivery Coordination
- Partner with Account Management and Operations to ensure campaigns are scoped, briefed and delivered on time
- Ensure clarity on timelines, approvals, budgets and deliverables before campaign launch
- Track campaign progress and escalate risks or issues proactively
- Ensure all commercial agreements, proposals and communications are properly documented
Pre-Sales & Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Programming, Finance) to validate feasibility, inventory and pricing
- Support internal forecasting, pipeline reviews and revenue reporting
- Provide market and client insights to help refine sales strategies, offerings and go-to-market approaches
- Contribute to the development of sales materials, pitch decks and playbooks

- Strong understanding of audio, retail media, digital, OOH or integrated media environments
- Ability to sell value, not just inventory positioning in-store media as a strategic brand channel

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media or equivalent experience
- 36+ years experience in media sales, account management or advertising (audio, digital, OOH, retail media preferred)
- Existing network within agencies, brands or retail environments is a strong advantage
- Experience selling integrated or non-traditional media solutions is a plus
