Summary Description

The Research Analyst, CE is responsible for creating reports that monitor implementation and measure return on investment. The position uses technical skills to extract, clean, and analyze internal software data, as well as document implementation and impact of online solutions on student achievement.

Essential Job Functions

  • Extract data from the company's Learning Management Systems using SQL, R, and/or other data analytical tools.
  • Clean, compile, and analyze customer data and draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Consult with customers regarding needs for data; work with database engineers to design query for pulling appropriate data, automate tedious tasks, and analyze and summarize data for customer explanation.
  • Develop data dictionaries and memos that define reportable metrics across the company's Learning Management Systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform statistical analyses for basic work assignments and parts of complex work assignments.
  • Write reports and technical memoranda that are clear, concise, and of varying length.
  • Assist with testing of automated reports and analysis tools.
  • Support internal staff use of automated reporting and analysis tools, including providing training, answering questions, and assisting staff with use.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, computer science, education evaluation, psychology or statistics, and at least three years experience working with Excel, SQL databases, and/or R or other data analytical tools; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced data cleaning skills and ability to provide error-free reports.
  • Ability to create pivot tables using Excel and strong experience running descriptive and inferential statistics using R.
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, listening, and writing skills.
  • Ability to understand the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of a data set.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Pro-activity and flexibility in identifying problems and creating solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
  • Advanced skills in R, SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
