Job Summary
Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company is looking for an experienced Release Manager to lead and manage software release activities across enterprise banking applications and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth, timely, and risk-controlled deployments while coordinating closely with development, QA, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams.
The role requires strong experience in release governance, change management, production deployment coordination, and stakeholder communication within a fast-paced banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end release planning, scheduling, coordination, and deployment activities
- Maintain enterprise release calendars and deployment schedules
- Coordinate with application development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, database, and support teams to ensure release readiness
- Facilitate release governance meetings, CAB discussions, and go/no-go approvals
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, change management policies, and banking regulatory standards
- Monitor production deployments and provide post-release support coordination
- Identify and mitigate release risks, dependencies, and conflicts across multiple projects
- Coordinate rollback strategies and contingency planning during critical releases
- Prepare release documentation, deployment checklists, implementation plans, and reports
- Support CI/CD initiatives and release automation improvements
- Track and report release metrics, deployment success rates, and operational KPIs
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align release schedules with operational requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 5–8 years of experience in Release Management, IT Service Management, Project Delivery, or DevOps
- Strong experience handling enterprise application releases in banking or financial services environments
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
- Hands-on experience with tools such as:
- Azure DevOps
- Jenkins
- Jira & Confluence
- ServiceNow
- Git/GitLab
- Strong understanding of ITIL Change and Release Management processes
- Experience coordinating production deployments and managing high-risk releases
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent releases in a fast-paced enterprise environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in digital banking, core banking systems, or financial platforms
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- ITIL Certification, PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications are an advantage
- Familiarity with incident, problem, and environment management processes
