Governance
- Ensure compliance by the group on the shareholders agreement and management delegation manual signed with partners.
- Ensure compliance with existing loan covenants, as applicable.
- Ensure that robust internal controls and processes are in place.
- Ensure the timely acquisition and maintenance of business permits and compliance with real property tax obligations.
- Actively engage in addressing financial issues that intersect with legal matters, providing support and guidance to ensure effective resolution and risk mitigation.
Tax Compliance and Tax Planning
- Oversee tax compliance and develop strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize financial performance and ensure adherence to relevant tax regulations.
- Foster strong relationships with key government agencies, including the Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), and Board of Investments (BOI), to support regulatory alignment and facilitate business operations.
Risk Management
- Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place and renewed.
- Monitor the group's financial risks, i.e., forex, interest rates, collection risks, etc.
Cash, Working Capital, and Funding Management
- Manage group's cash flow and ensure sufficient working capital for sustainable operations.
- Ensure investment of idle funds to term deposits as allowed under the loan agreements and shareholders agreement.
- Maximize sweeping of cash available for dividends and identify timing of distributions to shareholders.
- Manage equity funding requests, as well as negotiate and maintain financing to ensure sustainable and optimal capital structure.
- Lead/Co-lead project financing activities for CAPEX, ensuring effective funding strategies and cost management. Ensure efficient treasury operations.
Statutory and Management Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports (both statutory reporting and management reporting) in accordance with PFRS.
- Ensure that major issues and key risks are timely communicated to relevant parties.
- Lead the management of external and internal audit activities.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Coordinate the annual budget in line to group's direction.
- Monitor and review group's performance to investigate and report on key risks and issues.
- Monitor rolling forecasts to reflect realistic performance and targets and propose actions if needed.
- Develop a budget and forward plan in alignment with ACEN's budgeting cycle, securing necessary approvals, and ensuring collective commitment to its implementation.
Cost Optimization and Resource Management:
- Improve and optimize operational costs by leading functions in MPP such as Finance, Procurement and Warehousing.
- Oversee the outsourcing and expansion of functions to ACES to streamline operations.
- Establish a Comptrollership function within MPP to implement control processes for managing expenses effectively.
Strategic Leadership and Support:
- Serve as a key thought partner to ACEN IBD CFO and MPP President and CEO, contributing to strategic decision-making and execution of ACEN and board directives.
- Navigate internal and external stakeholders to secure necessary support and resources for ACEN PH and MPP's success, while challenging the status quo to drive innovation and efficiency.
People Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship and guidance to support their professional growth.
- Support the team in navigating complex project dynamics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- At least 12 years of relevant working experience in management role, with strong financial accounting background involving controllership, audit, taxation, compliance and corporate finance.
- Background in renewable energy industry will be an advantage.
- Exhibits good business acumen, planning and organizational skills, and detail-orientation.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
