Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

  • At all times, compliy with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
  • Analyze engineering documentation, technical drawings and schematics, and translate them into structured, topicbased service content.
  • Create, update and revise service procedures, troubleshooting steps, safety information and component descriptions following internal documentation standards.
  • Work within the ST4 Schema environment to assemble topicbased content into complete service manuals (no prior ST4 experience required; full training will be provided).
  • Ensure that all work follows SGS quality assurance procedures and clientspecific formatting and terminology guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers and other writers to clarify technical details and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage revisions, update logs and version control in accordance with project requirements.
  • Complete all assigned tasks and training within required deadlines.
  • Remains familiar with SGS quality assurance procedures.
  • Complies to all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree (technical writing, Engineering, or Applied science preferred or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience as a Technical Writer (experience with service/maintenance manuals is a strong advantage).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and refrigeration or electromechanical schematics (mandatory).
  • Experience with topicbased or modular documentation (DITA, ST4, or similar) is an asset but not required.
  • Strong commitment to quality, accuracy and operational excellence.

Required Skills

Excellent English writing skills; strong clarity, structure and technical precision.

  • Strong analytical and technical comprehension abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word (intermediate, including tables and structured formatting).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of integrity and responsibility.
  • Strong organization and efficiency in handling multiple documentation tasks.
