WHERE YOU FIT IN

Due to the continuing growth of our business, we are searching for an R&D Tax Incentive Consultant to join our R&D division in either our Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney office. We would also consider a remote candidate based elsewhere.

Our ideal candidate will be a junior who is enthusiastic and willing to learn. This role would suit an individual confident in their ability, looking for an intellectually challenging role, and ready to step up or sideways into a dynamic, fast-growing business with an already strong client base.

While the role is advertised as full-time, we allow flexibility in terms of both hours and attendance at the company's offices. Part-time applicants will be considered depending on suitability.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Key areas of responsibility

Under the direction of our Senior R&D Manager you will be responsible for:

• Working with clients to address questions surrounding eligibility of R&D activities;
• Drafting summary reports detailing clients proposed R&D activities, including technical descriptions of the work to be undertaken for review;
• Undertake regular reviews of clients R&D activities and expenditure;
• Preparation of R&D expenditure calculations;
• Preparing official applications to the Department of Industry (AusIndustry) for review; and
• Liaising with AusIndustry and the Australian Taxation Office as required.

Experience and qualifications

The R&D Tax Incentive Consultant must have the following attributes:

• Tertiary qualification in one of the following: commerce, accounting, law, or Engineering/IT/Life Sciences/Mathematics
• A high level of computer literacy (must be proficient using Microsoft Excel and Word)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A high level of attention to detail and a diligent nature
• A willingness to think laterally in the approach to problems that arise – to develop creative solutions to problems instead of applying the time-worn solution
• Strong organisational skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, plan workload, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines
• Ability to work effectively both in an independent autonomous capacity and as part of a team
• A confident, robust and positive personality is essential

The following additional attributes would also be beneficial for the applicant (but not required as we can teach you):

• Experience in the R&D space (although not required)
• Experience with Xero and other cloud-based accounting platforms
• Experience with Microsoft Teams and Monday.com
• Experience in a life sciences company or clinical trial environment
