Job Description

The Accounting Assistant supports the accounting team by performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. This role involves assisting with financial reporting, data entry, account reconciliation, and general office duties. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record all financial transactions of the company and its affiliates (SPVs) in the books of accounts and reconcile the accounts to make sure they balance every month.
  • Keep records of all the financial transactions such as vouchers, invoices, books of accounts, subsidiary ledgers, bank statements, deposit slips, official receipts, and all other financial documents of the company and its affiliates (SPVs).
  • Verify and process requests for cash advances, reimbursements, and purchase orders.
  • Prepare journal vouchers for liquidation of cash advances, accruals, and other adjusting journal entries.
  • Keep records of incoming and outgoing invoices of the company and its affiliates and record accordingly in the books.
  • Prepare billing statements for all the maturing receivables and prepare vouchers for all the maturing payables of the company and its affiliates.
  • Maintains and updates subsidiary ledgers for all accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash advances to officers & employees, and advances from stockholders.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual BIR returns, such as but not limited to BIR Forms 0605, 2000, 1601C, 1604CF, 0619E, 1601EQ, 1604E, 2550M, 2550Q, 1702Q, 1702RT
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements of all bank accounts of the company and its affiliates.
  • Keep abreast of all the latest pronouncements, rules, and regulations of the regulatory agencies of the government.
  • Prepare and file withholding tax returns promptly to avoid penalties.
  • Maintain and update records of employees accrued leave credits.
  • Assist in the preparation of the cash operating budget.
  • Perform such other duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, Oracle, or other local systems) and ability to handle data entry, reconciliations, invoicing, and report preparation.
  • Work Experience:0–2 years of experience in accounting or administrative support (entry-level). Internships or OJT in finance/accounting roles are a plus.
