The Jr. QS Engineer is responsible for overseeing cost control, bidding process, and managing all costs related to building F&B fit-out and renovation projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. The role ensures that construction projects are completed within budget and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates, BOQs, and cost plans during project planning, bidding, and track project expenditures.
Provide quantity take-offs, and material costing based on drawings and specifications.
Assist in evaluating contractor quotations, bids, and progress, variation order claims.
Help monitor project budgets, variations, and cost control reports.
Participate in site inspections to validate work progress and quantities.
Coordinate with project engineers, architects, and suppliers to gather necessary cost and material data.
Maintain accurate documentation of project expenses and cost records.
Ensure compliance with company policies, project specifications, and local regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
Preferably a Licensed Civil Engineer (not required but an advantage).
Minimum 12 years of experience in F&B, retail, or commercial fit-out projects
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quantity take-off software.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costing standards.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Good communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
