QUANTITY SURVEYOR
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing project costs and contracts from initial estimates through project completion. This role ensures that all construction costs are well-controlled, budgets are maintained, and financial risks are minimized.
Quantity Surveyor Duties And Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates based on project drawings and specifications.
- Monitoring project budgets, costs, and variations throughout the construction process.
- Preparing and evaluating progress billings, claims, and variation orders.
- Coordinating with engineers, contractors, and suppliers regarding project costs and quantities.
- Reviewing contracts, scope of work, and identifying potential financial risks.
- Assisting in procurement, bid evaluation, and contract administration.
- Conducting site visits to verify work progress and quantities.
- Maintaining accurate records of project costs, materials, and financial reports.
- Ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining project quality and standards.
- Supporting project teams with cost-related advice and financial planning.
Quantity Surveyor Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
Experience: 13 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, quantity take-off, and ability to read and interpret plans.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and attention to detail skills.
Knowledge: Familiarity with construction contracts, cost control, and billing processes.
Communication: Good coordination and reporting skills.
Continuous Learning: Willingness to improve knowledge in cost management and construction practices.
