Position summary:
This position is responsible for checking all deliverables within the studio, aiming for right the first time, every time, ensuring the client's standards, protocols and requirements are met.
Primary focus
- Checking digital files accurately in accordance to the material covered in the QA Manual this includes content, color and printability:
- Proofreading data and correcting where relevant.
- Ensuring files conform to the client's corporate guidelines (style).
- Checking images and graphics match the client's brief for color.
- Checking that files meet the printer's specification for technical set up (for example size of copy, thickness of lines and barcode sizing).
- To be proficient in all relevant software provided Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
- To be fully up to date with all master guidelines relevant to the client you are assigned to and have a working knowledge of other clients.
- To communicate to all departments effectively.
- To have good brand awareness, actively support the artwork department in achieving throughout the range and to follow the entire production process.
- To meet all required deadlines for your assigned client in conjunction with the Production Manager.
- To actively participate in the team you are part of, improving communication and working towards a right first time approach.
- Ensure proper trapping, bleeds, and margins to prevent any potential printing issues, is an advantage but not required.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of (2-4) years relevant work experience as a production or prepress QC; Preferably obtained in the printing industry or any relevant field
Technical Skills:
- Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat Pro is required.
- Background in conducting Quality Control and Quality Checks of Production Artwork is required.
- High attention to detail, rigor and process, demonstrated ability and desire to learn
- Proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook applications
- Proficient in MAC
