Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for Quality Assurance Analyst at Engkanto Brewery in Carmona, Cavite. You will be responsible in laboratory operations, oversee yeast management, conduct in-process quality checks, and partner closely with Brewing team to uphold our commitment to excellence. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about craft beverage production.
Key Responsibilities:
Part 1: Laboratory Operations and Yeast Management
- Perform aseptic propagation of pure yeast cultures and properly endorse to the Fermentation team.
- Transfer pure yeast cultures from laboratory stage to culture vessels.
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain culture media, reagents, and laboratory glassware.
- Decontaminate, wash, and re-sterilize used laboratory equipment and glassware.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness at all times.
- Secure the laboratory after duty hours and properly endorse keys to authorized personnel.
Part 2: Quality Control and Analysis
- Conduct sampling and analysis of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Evaluate and analyze incoming raw materials prior to acceptance.
- Perform scheduled verification and calibration checks of laboratory equipment.
- Accurately record, encode, and maintain results in QA logbooks and data sheets.
- Assure compliance with established procedures, work instructions, and food safety standards.
- Identify sanitation gaps or potential contamination risks and escalate appropriately.
Part 3: Inventory and Documentation
- Assist Brewery personnel in brewing activities as needed.
- Participate in laboratory method improvements and validation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- BS Chemist graduate or in any related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in beverage or food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques.
- With working knowledge and background in HCAT, Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Proficient in operating laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meter, thermometer, water bath, etc.).
Flexible and adaptable to production schedules and operational demands.
