Job Description

The QA/QC Engineer (HVAC) is responsible for ensuring that all Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning works meet quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role involves close coordination with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain compliance throughout project execution.

  • Develop and implement QA/QC procedures and inspection test plans (ITPs) specific to HVAC systems.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, insulation, and controls to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Review HVAC design drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Supervise and verify the installation of HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, ducting, and piping systems.
  • Coordinate with third-party testing agencies and ensure all HVAC testing (e.g., air balancing, duct leakage, etc.) is properly documented.
  • Maintain records of all quality documentation including test reports, inspection records, NCRs, and corrective actions.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Monitor work progress and ensure timely quality inspections at all stages of HVAC work.
  • Support the commissioning team in functional testing and handover procedures.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 13 years of experience as a QA/QC Engineer with a focus on HVAC systems, preferably in large-scale construction or MEP projects.
  • Ability to work on-site (construction site) and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent inspection and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and QA/QC software tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
