The QA Staff is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all fabricated products meet the companys quality standards and customer specifications. This includes inspection of raw materials, in-process checks, and final product verification, as well as documentation and reporting of quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated parts and assemblies.
- Verify product dimensions, tolerances, and weld quality according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Record and maintain inspection data, test results, and quality reports accurately.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconforming products.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, ISO procedures, and customer requirements.
- Support the calibration and maintenance of measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Monitor process quality trends and recommend improvements.
- Promote and maintain safety and 5S standards in the workplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 13 years of experience in quality assurance or inspection in a fabrication or metal manufacturing environment (new graduates may be considered).
- Familiar with fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, machining, assembly).
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, SPC, and FMEA.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficient in measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, welding gauges).
- Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Conditions
- Primarily in a fabrication or production floor environment.
- May require shift work or overtime depending on production demands.
