Role: QA Analyst
Location: Makati | Hybrid - 2x a week onsite
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a seasoned QA Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that application updates, models, and platform components are robust, reliable, and production-ready. This position requires a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test all aspects of assigned applications to ensure upgrades, patches, and enhancements are fully compatible and operate effectively in production environments.
- Execute component, system, integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing.
- Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) in alignment with approved test cases and test plans.
- Report, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Assist in standardizing testing processes and methodologies; recommend improvements to enhance testing efficiency and quality.
- Provide clear and timely status updates on testing progress.
- Identify and escalate risks encountered during testing that may impact delivery timelines.
- Evaluate existing processes and suggest improvements from a business-user perspective.
- Conduct various testing types, including functional, automated, security, performance, system, integration, and regression testing.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, senior managers, and business users.
- Adapt testing methodologies to suit specific applications and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain test deliverables, including test plans, strategies, cases, reports, and defect management documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- Proven experience in FinTech Software Testing.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern testing methodologies, particularly for web applications.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining automated tests.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and defect-tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
- Proficiency in Java or Groovy programming languages.
- Knowledge of Selenium and the Spock Framework is an advantage.
- Extensive experience in defect triage, escalation management, and conducting thorough root cause investigations.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Management.
- Experience working in an IT consulting environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global environment with international clients.
- Availability to work within the United States Mountain Standard Time (MST) timezone.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., accruals, revenue recognition, journal entries, debits/credits)
- Hands-on experience testing:
- General Ledger (GL) Posting Logic
- Accounting Periods & Period Close processes
- Revenue Contracts / Revenue Recognition
- Subledger to GL posting
- Adjustments, accruals, and reversals
- Experience validating financial reports, such as:
- Trial Balance
- BalanceSheet
- Income Statement
- AR/AP Aging Reports
- Chart of Accounts structures
