Job Summary

What you need to know about the job

The Purchasing Supervisor oversees all procurement activities, local and international, ensuring timely, cost-efficient, and compliant acquisition of materials and services. The role includes supplier auditing and evaluation, sourcing and negotiation, budget and cost control, and importation management. It ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate procurement records.

The Purchasing Supervisor also leads and develops the purchasing team to achieve operational efficiency and continuous improvement across all purchasing areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Purchasing and Materials Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 35 years of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing, trading, or industrial environment. At least 12 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a purchasing or supply chain function.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and vendor performance monitoring.
  • Exposure to logistics coordination, and supply chain compliance is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in ERP-based procurement operations and audit compliance documentation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end purchasing and procurement processes, from sourcing to delivery.
  • Knowledge of vendor management, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency with SAP for purchase order processing and reporting.
  • Competence in budgeting, cost analysis, and price benchmarking to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems and coordination with warehouse and production teams.
  • Understanding of logistics and importation procedures, including customs documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, for purchase tracking and analytics.
  • Basic understanding of accounting processes related to purchasing, such as invoice matching and supplier billing.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards for raw materials, supplies, and equipment procurement.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability.
