Job Description
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Sourcing and Procurement: Researching and identifying suppliers for construction materials, tools, and heavy equipment.
Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiating pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize cost savings.
Order Management: Placing purchase orders, tracking delivery progress, and ensuring materials arrive on-site on time to prevent delays.
Quality Assurance: Inspecting incoming materials to ensure they meet project specifications and standards.
Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels in the warehouse, tracking invoices, and managing inventory reports.
Cost Management: Preparing cost analysis reports and working with project managers/quantity surveyors to stay within budget.
Relationship Management: Maintaining and developing relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Requirements And Qualifications
Education: A degree holder or four years college graduate in business, supply chain management, or a related field is often preferred, though experience is highly valued.
Experience: 1-2 years previous experience in construction procurement or materials management is usually required or related at least
Skills: Strong negotiation skills, proficiency in MS Office/procurement software, analytical abilities, and knowledge of construction materials.
Competencies: Ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
