Job Purpose
The Purchasing Manager for the Food Category (Grocery, Commodities, Raw Materials, Meat, and Frozen items) exists to lead strategic sourcing and oversee operational purchasing activities to ensure supply continuity. The role is responsible for cost optimization, quality assurance, and developing robust purchasing strategies. This position typically reports to the Head of Supply Chain and supervises a purchasing team.
Main Duties
Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Execute strategic sourcing of alternative suppliers or alternative ingredients for meat, frozen goods, and commodities.
- Manage supplier relations and negotiate contracts, prices, and timelines to ensure favorable business terms.
- Monitor PR/POs and assist in the resolution of supplier-related concerns such as payments, deliveries, and quality issues.
Operations & Process Management
- Manage daily purchasing activities, supervise the purchasing team, and allocate tasks effectively.
- Coordinate with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs for raw materials and food items.
- Maintain the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation while working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
Other duties and tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of end-to-end Purchasing/Procurement experience, preferably in the F&B industry, with direct exposure to handling raw materials and food categories.
Work Setup:
- 5-day onsite in The Brilliance Center, BGC. (Monday-Friday)
- 2 days of work from home per month
