Position Summary
Acts as the subject matter expert for the end-to-end procure-to-pay process for indirect materials and services, ensuring alignment with category strategies and compliance with company policies. Executes daily procurement activities, including converting approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders and managing order placement and delivery in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Coordinates closely with suppliers, requestors, and Business Units, serving as the escalation point for process-related concerns and ensuring that purchasing and delivery requirements are met. Drives and supports continuous process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to overall business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads end-to-end procurement of indirect materials, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery while aligning with business and project requirements
- Owns and manages complex purchase requisitions and purchase orders in Oracle ERP, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and process efficiency
- Reviews, validates, and approves requisitions/POs, ensuring completeness of documentation and adherence to procurement policies
- Drives supplier engagement, including negotiations, performance management (cost, OTD, quality), and issue resolution
- Proactively manages demand changes, project risks, and supply constraints; develops mitigation strategies to meet delivery commitments
- Oversee PO lifecycle management, including expediting, rescheduling (pull-ins/push-outs), and closure, ensuring ERP accuracy and audit readiness
- Provides guidance to requestors and junior team members on procurement processes, systems, and best practices
- Leads cross-functional coordination with Finance, Legal, and stakeholders for contracts, SOWs, and vendor management
- Analyzes procurement data and KPIs to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process gaps; drives continuous improvement initiatives
- Owns and improves reporting (KPI dashboards, trend analysis) to support strategic decision-making
- Resolves complex invoice discrepancies and escalations, ensuring timely closure and vendor satisfaction
- Drives process standardization, automation, and error-proofing initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Acts as a key contributor or lead in strategic projects and transformation initiatives within procurement
- Supports supplier strategy development, including vendor selection, onboarding, and performance reviews
- Mentors and supports development of junior team members; contributes actively to talent development initiatives
- Ensures effective management of team mailbox and workflow prioritization, including escalation handling
- Partners with Purchasing Manager to achieve departmental KPIs and continuous improvement goals
- Operates with a high degree of autonomy in decision-making and problem-solving, handling complex and high-impact scenarios
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any 4-year course preferably Engineering/Manufacturing/Supply Chain/Business related discipline
- 3-5 years Purchasing / Supply Chain / Procurement related experience
- Fluent and Conversant both in written and verbal English
- Intermediate MS Excel knowledge is a must - ability to work with pivot tables, charts
- Intermediate MS PowerPoint knowledge
