Your Role
As a
Property, Plant and Equipment (PP&E) Accountant, you will:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset ledger by recording new additions, assigning asset tag numbers, and tracking physical and intangible assets across multiple global legal entities.
- Calculate monthly depreciation, manage amortization schedules, and reconcile subledgers to general ledger balance sheet accounts.
- Review project costs, Construction-in-Progress (CIP), and expense accounts to properly apply capitalization policies and identify exceptions.
- Process asset retirements, sales, transfers, and test for potential asset impairments or obsolescence.
- Support financial audits, month-end/year-end close processes, and supply PP&E data for insurance reporting and property tax returns.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in general accounting or fixed asset accounting within a multi-regional/multi-currency setting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or GAAP regulations relating to fixed assets and long-lived asset accounting.
- Hands-on experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proven ability to manage month-end close timetables, prepare audit schedules, and execute detailed account reconciliations on time.
Preferred Skills/expertise
- Experience working within a Shared Services Center (SSC) environment for global organizations.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex functions).
- Fluency in the Spanish language (spoken and written).
- Strong process improvement mindset to streamline internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication and business partnering skills across international teams.
