Property Accountant (Yardi)

Overview

Our client is looking for a Property Accountant (Yardi) to take full end-to-end ownership of the property-level financial reporting cycle across a growing portfolio of over 145 commercial and residential properties. Working closely with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and Property Managers, you will manage cash receipts, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and the complete month-end close process. This full-time remote role is perfect for a detail-oriented accounting professional with advanced Yardi expertise looking to make an impact with a rapidly expanding U.S. property management firm.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9 am - 6 pm CST time (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of properties and own the full accounting cycle, including cash receipts, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Record and manage cash receipts in Yardi, support AR processes, and ensure accurate allocation of incoming payments.
• Execute month-end close processes, prepare/post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and generate internal financial reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure accuracy across all accounts.
• Run and review property-level financial statements to ensure timely delivery and provide insights to stakeholders.
• Maintain clean data within Yardi.
• Work closely with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and Property Managers in an internal-facing capacity.

Requirements

• Over 3 to 5 years of property accounting experience required (real estate, commercial, and residential properties).
• Strong, hands-on experience with Yardi (non-negotiable).
• Proven experience with Accounts Receivable, Journal Entries, Bank Reconciliations, Month-End Close, and Financial Reporting.
• Experience working with commercial and residential real estate portfolios.
• Ability to manage multiple properties simultaneously.
• Advanced proficiency in Yardi and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
