The
Project Lead Broadband Build is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering broadband infrastructure deployment projects (e.g., fiber, last-mile connectivity, and access networks). The role oversees end-to-end project execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, quality, and compliance requirements are met while coordinating cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, vendors, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end execution of broadband network deployment projects.
- Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Track and manage project progress to ensure delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Build & Deployment Oversight
- Oversee broadband infrastructure build activities such as fiber rollout, civil works, and network installation.
- Coordinate with engineering teams for design validation and technical requirements.
- Ensure compliance with network standards, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage relationships with contractors, construction teams, and third-party vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance, deliverables, and adherence to service level agreements.
- Review and approve vendor work reports, invoices, and deliverables.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, procurement).
- Provide regular status updates and project reporting to management.
- Facilitate cross-department collaboration to resolve project issues.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to telecom regulatory standards and company policies.
- Conduct site inspections and review build quality.
- Ensure proper documentation and handover of completed infrastructure to operations.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain project documentation including schedules, progress reports, budgets, and risk logs.
- Provide periodic performance reports and project dashboards.
- Ensure accurate documentation for project closure and audits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, broadband deployment, or network infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing fiber rollout, broadband access networks, or telecom build projects.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FTTH, FTTB, or fiber backbone deployments.
- Familiarity with telecom standards, permits, and regulatory compliance.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, or similar).
