Job Description

To ensure the compliance, quality, and safety of dam and hydropower infrastructure works by conducting inspections, verifying design specifications, monitoring construction practices, and reporting deviations from standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of dam works
  • Check conformance to design/specs
  • Monitor material usage
  • Inspect concrete, earth fill, spillways
  • Identify and record defects
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies
  • Monitor safety practices on-site
  • Identify hazards
  • Verify implementation of mitigation plans
  • Maintain inspection records
  • Submit daily and weekly progress reports
  • Review contractor's inspection/test results
  • Track testing and calibration
  • Document as-built info
  • Participate in coordination meetings
  • Relay site issues to design teams
  • Verify work method statements
  • Track schedule impacts
  • Clarify drawings/specs on site
  • Monitor excavation and backfilling
  • Confirm geotechnical parameters
  • Inspect structural formwork/reinforcement
  • Confirm grouting and compaction
  • Witness testing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License (PRC, or equivalent)
  • Specialization in Dams / Hydropower (e.g., short course, certification)
  • Construction Supervision for Dams/Hydropower Projects
  • Field Inspection (QA/QC) Roles
  • Preferably in hydropower/dam-related sites
  • Dam types, seepage control, geotechnical & structural components
  • GIS, Primavera, structural or geotechnical modeling tools
  • Blasting and tunneling exposure near dam sites
  • Technical writing for external audits
  • A desire to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Contributing to the success of the business
  • Achievement of practice excellence within time and budgetary constraints
  • Supporting and development of team knowledge and skills
