About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer – Hydraulics to lead the design and delivery of hydraulic building services projects. The role will oversee hydraulic systems design, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building hydraulics, sanitary and drainage systems, with exposure to Australian or international project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of hydraulic building services systems.
- Develop and review hydraulic designs, calculations, drawings and technical reports.
- Manage hydraulic engineering teams and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Coordinate hydraulic designs with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
- Liaise with clients, WSP offices, partners and local supply authorities as required.
- Manage project outputs, schedules and deliverables in line with project requirements.
- Lead or support medium-sized multidisciplinary projects.
- Review and audit technical work produced by junior team members.
- Support training and development of the hydraulics engineering team.
- Apply QA/QC, safety-in-design and OH&S requirements throughout project delivery.
- Prepare project status reports and provide technical updates to management.
- Use AutoCAD, Revit, spreadsheets and 3D modelling tools to develop hydraulic designs.
- Stay updated on relevant technical standards, regulations and industry practices.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Sanitary Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in hydraulics/building services engineering.
- Registered Sanitary Engineer / PSSE is an advantage.
- Strong experience with:
Sanitary drainage and vent systems
Cold, hot and return water systems
Stormwater drainage
Rainwater harvesting/recycling systems
Trade waste systems
Gas systems
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
- Experience managing project scope across multiple projects of varying complexity.
- Working knowledge of QA, OH&S, risk management and safety-in-design processes.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination, communication and team leadership skills.
