Main Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the Hydraulics service design of building services and associated systems of work.
- Leads and supervises the Hydraulics Engineering team (Hydraulics Engineer and Graduate Engineer) in implementing project objectives, plans and programs within the department as directed by the management.
- Ensures that the project designs/studies from the clients are completed in accordance with acceptable prescribed standard for each requesting party's place/ country of origin and its intent/content.
- Responsible for liaison with local supply authorities to gain approvals, when necessary.
- Manages and maintains the record of all incoming and outgoing drawings from the office in accordance with WSP QA procedures.
- Liaises with WSP personnel and WSP's partners both local and foreign affiliates and clients.
- Liaises and coordinates with other disciplines of the design team.
- Manages and controls outputs in accordance with the design works program.
- Attends meeting when required both local and overseas.
- At all times exhibit behaviour, consistent with that of a professional member of WSP.
- Responsible for training and development of junior staff and Hydraulics Engineering team.
- Creates regular reports on project status for management.
- Keeps abreast of technical updates and advises management.
- Assist in multidisciplinary project activities.
- Use of spreadsheet and 3D modelling to develop hydraulics system designs.
- Comply with all role SHEQ obligations.
- Develop experience in managing small teams.
- Auditing of other more junior staff.
- Apply safety in design processes on projects.
- Prepare high level technical reports and review medium size project reports.
- Project Lead medium sized multi-discipline projects.
Experience, Capabilities & Competencies:
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Sanitary / Hydraulics
- Board Passer and Registered Sanitary Engineer (PSSE) is a plus
- At least 8 years of experience in a similar capacity
- Knowledge in Hydraulics; sanitary drainage & vent system, cold, hot and return water system, stormwater drainage system
- Rainwater recycled, trade waste system and Gas system
- AutoCAD and Revit experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of WSP's organizational capability and how to access it.
- Working knowledge of systems, procedures and practices.
- Working knowledge of organizational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
- Experienced in applying QA and OH&S systems.
- Experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
