The Electrical & Mechanical Project Engineer will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of electrical and mechanical (E&M) works for a large-scale hydropower dam and pumped storage project. The role covers major power and plant systems including turbines, generators, pumps, transformers, switchgear, auxiliary systems, electromechanical equipment, and related balance-of-plant installations.
This position ensures that E&M construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities are executed in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, safety standards, and project schedules. The role involves close coordination with contractors, OEMs, consultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily monitoring and supervision of electrical and mechanical installation works at assigned areas.
Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, and site teams to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Conduct site inspections, progress tracking, and reporting of installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
Review electrical and mechanical drawings, technical submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and method statements; escalate issues or discrepancies to the E&M Lead or Project Manager.
Support QA/QC inspections to ensure equipment installation and workmanship meet required standards and manufacturer recommendations.
Ensure proper documentation of E&M records including inspection reports, test results, punch lists, commissioning logs, and as-built drawings.
Coordinate closely with civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental teams to ensure proper interface and system integration.
Monitor compliance with site safety procedures and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements during installation and commissioning works.
Assist in resolving site-level technical issues related to electrical and mechanical systems in coordination with engineers, supervisors, and contractors.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project leadership and stakeholders.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; PRC license is preferred.
Minimum of 10-15 years of engineering experience in electrical and/or mechanical works for hydropower plants, pumped storage projects, power plants, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Hands-on experience with E&M systems such as turbines, generators, pumps, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, auxiliary systems, or balance-of-plant equipment.
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ASME, ISO, OEM standards, and local regulations).
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and basic project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project or Primavera).
Strong understanding of installation, testing, and commissioning processes for E&M equipment.
Willingness to work 100% onsite, with flexibility to be assigned in either Rizal or Laguna project locations.
