ROLE OVERVIEW

The Program Director (Client & Delivery Lead) owns the end-to-end success of a large, multi-workstream communications and advocacy programcovering planning, execution, governance, and reporting.

This is a hybrid role with up to 3-4 days/week on-site, working closely with senior stakeholders in a structured, professional environment. You will lead an 812 person delivery unit (mix of LeapOut team members and vendors), ensuring everyone is aligned, accountable, and delivering consistently.

You will serve as the primary client-facing leader while also acting as the internal program integratordriving timelines, quality, approvals, risk management, and partner coordination without drama, confusion, or surprises.

THE PROGRAM (CONTEXT)

This is a government-led, multi-workstream communications program involving coordinated planning, content and communications execution, events support, media and social monitoring, reporting, and strict documentation. The client expects a delivery partner that is present, responsive, transparent, and capable of operating with structure, compliance discipline, and professionalism in a public-sector environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Relationship Ownership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client across the engagement
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Lead regular on-site and online check-ins, status updates, and working sessions
  • Manage expectations, scope, and approvals clearly and proactively
  • Address issues early and constructivelyprotecting both delivery and trust

Program & Delivery Leadership

  • Translate objectives into clear workplans, milestones, and delivery standards
  • Own the master project plan, timelines, dependencies, and deliverable trackers
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams (strategy, communications, media, content, events, monitoring, reporting)
  • Ensure outputs meet required quality, format, and submission standards
  • Drive consistent execution across internal team and vendors

Leadership & Team Management (812 staff including vendors)

  • Lead the cross-functional delivery team with clarity, structure, and calm urgency
  • Assign responsibilities, enforce deadlines, and remove blockers
  • Run internal cadence meetings (weekly execution reviews, milestone checkpoints)
  • Ensure vendors deliver to specon time, with complete documentation
  • Build a culture of accountability without intimidation

Budget, Scope & Accountability

  • Track budgets, allocations, and spend across workstreams (including vendors)
  • Guard against scope creep while staying solutions-oriented
  • Escalate risks early with options and recommendations
  • Maintain strong audit-ready documentation, approvals, and sign-offs

Communication, Governance & Reporting

  • Maintain clear documentation, trackers, meeting notes, and approval records
  • Oversee reporting outputs and executive-ready summaries
  • Ensure all submissions are timely, complete, and properly packaged
  • Keep LeapOut leadership updated with reliable visibilityno surprises

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Management, or related field
  • 8+ years experience in program, project delivery, consulting, or client leadership roles
  • Track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs with strict timelines
  • Experience with institutions, public sector work, large enterprise environments, or regulated industries is a strong advantage

WORK SETUP

  • Hybrid (up to 3-4 days/week on-site)
