Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall manufacturing operations of the assigned plants to ensure production targets are met in terms of quality, efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling production processes while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. The Production Manager leads and develops the production team, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinates closely with other departments to support company growth and sustainability objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee daily plant operations to ensure efficient and timely production in accordance with established schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  2. Develop and implement production plans, manpower allocation, and resource utilization strategies to achieve productivity and cost targets.
  3. Coordinate and align production schedules with supply chain, maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics departments to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Lead, mentor, and evaluate production supervisors and staff to ensure consistent performance and adherence to company standards.
  5. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, efficiency, downtime, and material utilization; analyze trends and implement improvement actions.
  6. Promote and lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, lean manufacturing practices, and waste reduction programs across production areas.
  7. Ensure strict compliance with GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  8. Safeguard company assets, including production tools, equipment, and facilities, ensuring proper maintenance and preventive measures are implemented.
  9. Collaborate with General Services Department, QA, and other departments in resolving production issues and implementing process improvements.
  10. Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all production personnel by enforcing company safety policies and providing a safe working environment.
  11. Prepare and review production reports, analyze operational performance, and provide recommendations to management for process optimization.
  12. Support company activities and projects geared towards operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability.

QUALIFICATION GUIDES

  • Preferably an Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Chemical) or Food Technology graduate with a solid background in dairy/food processing.
  • License in a related engineering field or food industry certifications (preferred but not required).
  • At least 58 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in dairy or food processing is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Solid understanding of production systems, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledgeable in GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001, FS 22000, and other food safety standards.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical, organized, and results oriented.
  • Able to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, integrity, and persistence.
