The Product Specialist for Dermatology is responsible for driving product adoption and sales growth for the company's dermatology portfolio within assigned accounts and territories. The role combines scientific product communication, relationship management, and sales execution, engaging dermatologists, pharmacists, and key clinic/hospital stakeholders. Success is measured through ethical, compliant promotion; strong account planning; and delivery of sales, coverage, and activity KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
Territory & Account Management and Development
- Own and execute a territory business plan covering private clinics, hospitals, dermatology centers, and pharmacies.
- Segment accounts, map decision-makers (e.g., chiefs of clinics, purchasing, clinic managers), and establish call cycles based on potential and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate account/contact data and call notes, update weekly.
- Develop new accounts; include products in hospital / industrial formulary.
Scientific & Ethical Promotion
- Deliver evidence-based, compliant product detailing (MOA, efficacy, safety, differentiators, patient profiles, dosing, handling/storage).
- Conduct product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and small roundtable discussions; support medical education events as needed.
- Handle objection management professionally (e.g. pricing sensitivity, formulary access).
Sales Performance & Execution
- Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets, market share objectives, and coverage KPIs.
- Ensure listing, in-clinic availability, and sell-out activities where applicable.
- Execute promotional programs, sampling (if allowed), and patient support initiatives following company/industry policies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with KOLs, society members (e.g., dermatology associations), clinic managers, and pharmacy staff.
- Liaise with Medical Affairs for scientific inquiries and with Trade/Channel teams for pricing, discounts, and supply.
- Support tender or institutional access where relevant.
Data, Reporting & Insights
- Submit timely call reports, activity trackers, and sales forecasts.
- Utilization of CRM reports to track, document and evaluate MD coverage activities from planning to execution, ensuring accurate data capture and timely submission of field reports.
- Monitor competitive activities and relay market intelligence (pricing, promos, new launches, clinical trends).
- Track inventory/stock status at key accounts; address gaps proactively.
Compliance & Company Standards
- Adhere to ethical promotion standards, company SOPs, and local regulations.
- Safeguard customer and patient data in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and internal policies.
- Follow HSE guidelines during fieldwork and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Biology, Medical Technology, Marketing, or related field.
- 13+ years experience as a Medical Representative / Product Specialist, preferably in Dermatology.
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and managing a territory.
- Strong scientific communication and objection handling skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office/365 and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Driver's license and willingness to travel within territory and for out-of-town meetings/events.
- Open to assignments in any location.
