Job Description

As a Product Owner, you oversee the development of your products from start to finish to ensure they meet the clients needs and preferences. Your main duties include determining the overall vision of your products, managing various backlog items and deciding which features each product will have according to users preferences.

You are a member of the leadership team who manages the entire product development process within the organization. You will research and determine the product users needs to determine which features to include on products and will pitch ideas for product features to stakeholders. You will then continue to act as the primary contact between the scrum teams, product development departments and stakeholders.

You collaborate closely with both the scrum and product development departments to ensure the products meet specific objectives as outlined by stakeholders and users. After product completion, you conduct a final review and submit their approval before releasing the product to users.

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of your role on a product team, you fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with prospective users to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
  • Defining the vision for the team's products as shared solutions for the group
  • Aligning shared services definitions with the corporate strategy and the requirements of all end users
  • Creating and actively managing product road maps based on this vision
  • Managing the product backlog and setting priorities based on changing requirements:

o Understanding individual requirements

o Defining concrete requirements

o Evaluating through KPI (benefits vs efforts)

  • Aligning tool specifications with different entities requirements
  • Overseeing all stages of product creation including design and development
  • Developing user stories
  • Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
  • Liaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates
  • Setting up Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Liaising with IT, Product Users and SME
  • Ensuring that the product always remain accessible and operational by taking the appropriate measures and decisions to guarantee it

Skills and Qualifications

You possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Very good understanding of shared services complexity and requirements
  • Solid understanding of intellectual property processes and regulations
  • Process productivity minded
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
  • Working knowledge of product development architecture
  • Proficiency in the use of analytic tools
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to work with large teams
  • Understanding of design quality and user experience standards
  • High sense of ownership and accountability
