JOB SUMMARY:
The Portfolio Manager for API Product is responsible for guiding the strategic direction and overall success of the company's API portfolio, with a strong focus on client engagement and adoption. This role ensures that API initiatives align with business objectives, helps clients understand the value of API solutions, and supports seamless collaboration across internal teams and external partners. The Portfolio Manager will act as a trusted advisor to clients, presenting solutions clearly, building confidence in our products, and continuously learning to deepen product expertise.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
API Portfolio Strategy & Planning:
- Define and maintain the API product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and client needs.
- Prioritize initiatives based on business impact and customer value.
- Stay informed on industry trends to communicate opportunities and product direction to clients and stakeholders.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive API adoption.
- Confidently present API solutions in a clear, accessible, and engaging manner.
- Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex concepts into practical benefits.
- Support clients in understanding integration opportunities and resolving challenges.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure client requirements are well understood and delivered.
- Facilitate communication across teams to align priorities and deliver a seamless client experience.
- Support enterprise projects requiring API integration and portfolio coordination.
Governance & Performance Management:
- Track API usage, adoption, and performance metrics to evaluate success and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure that client-facing solutions meet standards for scalability, security, and compliance.
- Provide input on best practices for API lifecycle management while keeping client needs at the forefront.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
- 46 years of experience in product management, portfolio management, or client-facing technology roles.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with APIs and willingness to expand knowledge further.
- Ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with a client-first approach.
- Preferably someone who can start as soon as possible but not a requirement
