Job Description

The Product Development Executive/Supervisor is responsible for the technical aspects of product development. Responsible for overall quality of licensed products and making sure that the quality is within organizational standards.

Responsibilities

Product Design Research and Development

  • Coordinates with Brand Management group on brand updates and directions.
  • Attends and participates in conferences, trade shows or fairs.
  • Conduct trend analysis and create the mood board to establish the seasonal product inspiration.
  • Facilitate the development of new styles, constructions, materials aligned with range plan.

Technical Design Development and Sourcing

  • Create technical packages for new product designs based on the approved line plan.
  • Conduct product sourcing, and factory management (factory plotting).
  • Facilitate product sampling and testing (from prototype to commercial sampling); communicate key feedback to ensure revisions are enforce when necessary.
  • Develop and cascade packing instructions to the factory.
  • Manage and negotiate with suppliers for MOQs, production lead times, costing, quality standards, timely claims on defective products and other terms.
  • Resolve quality, development, and production issues.
  • Source suppliers for complex new designs.

Production Management and Quality Control

  • Coordinate the final line plan (with techpack) to the factory. Attend in pre-production meeting to discuss the details of style order to avoid defects during production process, discuss production plan and shipment schedule.
  • Secure a manufacturing agreement (Price, delivery, quality standard, intellectual property rights, confidentiality, non-compliant, audit, etc.) to protect company and brand.
  • Submits purchase orders and negotiates with factories to ensure maximum confirmation of orders.
  • Generate EAN codes.
  • Facilitate order monitoring and confirmation.
  • Create / update quality standard procedure to ensure the quality of the products.
  • Give technical suggestion, solution and guide factories to avoid non-conforming products.
  • Monitor production schedule to arrange in-line and final quality inspection.
  • Coordinate with vendors on quality issues and create corrective and preventive action plan.
  • Facilitate claims on defective products.

Administrative / Document Management

  • Provide weekly production status report to the brand team.
  • Maintain all files pertaining to product development and production are available at all times.
  • Ensure timely update of PD forms (Techpack, manufacturing manual, Contract to Manufacture licensed brand.
  • Keep all inspection reports.
  • Work on other work related to product development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Clothing/Garments Technology, Fashion Merchandising, and/or Industrial Engineering
  • Extensive experience in dealing with garment/shoes/bags manufacturing (local and abroad).
  • Proficiently able to apply and perform technical skills, pertaining to fabric / leather quality, color, packaging, and box labelling base on technical package (Tech Pack).
  • Well oriented and updated on current trends, color, and design.
  • Familiar with different types of quality standard and AQL.
  • Have in-depth knowledge on quality assurance terminologies, methods and tools.
  • Have good negotiation skills
  • Able and willing to travel; proficiency in English is required.

Work Set Up

  • Full onsite on a semi-flexible schedule in Malate, Manila.
