Sunbelt Products is a small but successful and growing eCommerce company based in Odessa, FL that has been in business for more than 15 years. In 2011 we started in a modest 600 square foot warehouse and over the years have progressively grown into a 25,000 square foot operation.

We sell our own branded products (Liquid Stands, Pink Power, Sleepavo, HTM Lighting) that are manufactured to our specifications and listed on various channels such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Reverb, Target, and our own websites. We fulfill orders in our warehouse and we prepare for and ship products to Amazon and Walmart warehouses for them to fulfill.

About the Position

Sunbelt Products is seeking a Product Development Manager to drive new product innovation across our brands, with a primary focus on our Liquid Stands line of physical music gear. This hands-on role is responsible for creating technical drawings, incorporating customer feedback into product improvements, managing manufacturing and costs, and coordinating execution across teams. This role sits at the center of product ideas, customer feedback, costing, and supplier coordination, helping prioritize and develop products that meet strategic and financial goals from concept through production readiness.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with China-based factories, leadership, marketing, and operations teams. Experience with metal furniture, adjustable stand systems, structural hardware, or similar physical products is a strong plus, but we also welcome candidates with broader manufacturing product development backgrounds who enjoy bringing innovative products to life. This role reports directly to the COO and plays a key role in shaping the future of our product line.

This position is fully remote and follows a Monday through Friday work schedule with weekends off.

What You Will Do

• Own and maintain product development SOPs
• Build and manage the product roadmap
• Define and maintain product specifications; manage technical drawings produced by external design partners
• Review product samples and recommend design, quality, or cost improvements
• Analyze customer feedback to to drive new product ideas and product improvements
• Maintain a structured master list of product ideas, improvements, and development priorities
• Maintain organized, up-to-date design files on the shared drive
• Work directly with manufacturers and sourcing partners in China
• Manage product specifications, tooling, sampling, and revisions
• Coordinate sample requests, approvals, and design updates
• Ensure production outputs match approved designs and specifications
• Analyze and monitor product costs, margins, profitability, and ROI
• Develop and review detailed cost breakdowns
• Evaluate product feasibility and financial viability before launch
• Track product performance against defined KPIs such as profits, on-time production, and product quality
• Identify opportunities to improve margins
• Communicate finalized designs, specifications, and changes to internal teams
• Align product development timelines with marketing and launch plans

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in physical product development for durable goods
• Hands-on design of mechanical or structural products
• Experience developing technical requirements and managing 3D manufacturing specifications and drawings
• Direct work with overseas manufacturers, ideally in China
• Management of specifications, sampling, tooling, and production readiness
• Product costing, landed cost, and margin analysis
• Familiarity with PLM tools or structured product documentation systems
• Background in supply chain, operations, or product analytics
• Strong organizational and project management skills

Desired Qualifications

• Strong financial literacy (costs, margins, ROI)
• Exposure to Amazon or ecommerce brands
• Ability to manage complex, multi-product workflows
• Clear written and verbal communication in English
• Effective working within a remote, distributed team environment
• Experience coordinating product development activities across internal teams
• Ability to create 3D technical drawings
