As a Procurement Specialist at Hive Modular, your role will include the following:

Procurement Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to source high-quality construction materials, tools, and services at competitive pricing.
  • Ensure alignment of procurement plans with project timelines, production schedules, and approved budgets.
  • Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and operational requirements.

Supplier Sourcing & Relationship Management:

  • Source, evaluate, accredit, and onboard local and international suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships to ensure reliability, service quality, and long-term partnerships.
  • Expand, maintain, and regularly update the company's centralized vendor and supplier database, including pricing records, performance history, lead times, and compliance documents.

Contract Negotiation & Compliance:

  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements to secure favorable and sustainable arrangements for the company.
  • Ensure that all procurement contracts comply with internal policies, financial controls, and applicable legal and regulatory standards.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate closely with Project Management, Warehouse, Production, and Site Operations teams to ensure material availability aligns with construction milestones and delivery targets.
  • Coordinate with Finance on budget monitoring, purchase order approvals, payment schedules, and cost tracking.

Procurement Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier contracts, cost analyses, and delivery performance metrics.
  • Provide regular reports to management on material costs, vendor performance, procurement risks, and identified savings or optimization initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 35 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in construction, modular housing, manufacturing, or architecture-related industries
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, tools, equipment, and supplier ecosystems (local and international)
  • Established network of suppliers in the construction supply market is an advantage
  • Proven experience negotiating pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements
  • Experience building and maintaining vendor/supplier databases, accreditation records, and procurement documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and/or Google Sheets (cost comparison, tracking sheets, supplier analysis)
  • Experience using sourcing platforms such as Alibaba or similar B2B marketplaces is a plus
  • Background in construction cost estimation, quantity surveying, or bill of materials (BOM) analysis is an advantage
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration (Project, Warehouse, Finance, Site teams)
  • Detail-oriented, commercially minded, and able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, supplier locations, and warehouses as required
