We're looking a
Pre-Press Operator for a client in Australia to support the print production workflow by preparing, checking and correcting artwork to ensure all files are accurate, print-ready and aligned with production specifications. Maintain speed and quality standards to support on-time delivery and minimise rework.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Press Artwork Preparation
- Review incoming client files for completeness and print suitability
- Set up artwork to meet production specifications including size, bleed, margins and resolution
- Prepare files for various print formats including digital and large format
Graphic Design and Typesetting
- Create and amend artwork for business cards, flyers, banners and other print materials
- Perform typesetting tasks ensuring correct layout, alignment and readability
- Apply brand guidelines and maintain design consistency across all outputs
Proofing and Quality Control
- Conduct pre-flight checks on all files prior to production
- Identify and correct errors in layout, fonts, images, colours and formatting
- Prepare and issue proofs for internal review or client approval
- Implement revisions based on feedback in a timely manner
File Management and Workflow Support
- Organise and manage artwork files in line with internal naming conventions
- Ensure correct file versions are used and archived appropriately
- Liaise with production staff to confirm job requirements and specifications
- Prioritise tasks to meet daily production deadlines
Continuous Improvement
- Follow established pre-press procedures and contribute to process improvements
- Maintain attention to detail across high-volume work
- Support team members during peak production periods
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphics/Multimedia and other relevant degree
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design or pre-press production / print production
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro
- Experience using Quite Imposing or similar imposition software
- Strong understanding of print production processes including file setup, colour modes and finishing requirements
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
