Master Visual Excellence Through Creative Imaging and Production Expertise

Bring your dual mastery of advanced imaging and ad production to large-scale publishing where creative precision meets technical excellence. As an experienced Print Graphic Designer, you'll support our newspaper and prestige imaging requirements through expert Photoshop techniques - complex retouching, colour correction, and deep etching - as well as producing press-ready advertisements in InDesign that meet exacting publication standards. From creative problem-solving and high-end image manipulation to multi-ad layouts and preflight optimisation, your work drives visual impact across premium newspapers and prestige magazines.

Job Overview

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Shift: Day Shift, Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-6:00 PM (New South Wales Time)
  • Days Off: Weekends Off
  • Work Setup: Onsite - Megatower, Ortigas
  • Transition to hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH) once performance and team readiness are met.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in graphic design, ad production, or advanced imaging within print, advertising, or media environments
  • Advanced Adobe InDesign and Photoshop skills, with working knowledge of Illustrator
  • Qualification in graphic design, visual communication, print production, or related creative field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong print reproduction expertise (CMYK, ink weights, profiles, press standards)
  • Experience in newspaper, magazine, catalogue, or premium brand production strongly preferred
  • Real estate style guides, retail catalogues, or luxury brand experience is a plus
  • Additional training in colour management, prepress, print technology, or advanced retouching techniques is advantageous
  • Portfolio demonstrating both advanced imaging/retouching capabilities AND professional ad production work

Key Responsibilities

Basic to Advanced Imaging & Retouching

  • Carry out imaging requests in Adobe Photoshop: deep etching, colour correction, retouching, product refinement to print specifications
  • Maintain colour and visual consistency across image treatments within campaigns and brand guidelines

Advertisement Production

  • Build print advertisements in Adobe InDesign based on supplied assets and creative briefs, ensuring correct dimensions, bleed, trim, margins, and publication specifications
  • Work with templates, style guides, and brand specifications across multiple clients and publications
  • Maintain high-quality standards across all outputs for newspapers and prestige magazines

Quality Assurance & Technical Excellence

  • Conduct thorough preflight checks on files (formats, fonts, links, resolution, colour modes, spelling, layout accuracy) and resolve issues efficiently
  • Manage multiple creative and production deadlines simultaneously, prioritise tasks strategically, and ensure timely delivery aligned with production schedules
  • Apply a zero-defect approach to all work, catching errors before they reach print

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with internal teams to clarify creative briefs, align production requirements, and communicate risks or challenges proactively
  • Provide clear, professional communication regarding file issues, timeline concerns, or specification questions

Note: Occasional overtime or shift adjustments may be required based on business needs (e.g., breaking news or team coverage).

Success in This Role

  • First 30 days: Master imaging and production workflows, understand systems and publication specifications, demonstrate consistent quality in both retouching and ad builds, and deliver accurate, error-free outputs.
  • First 90 days: Handle increasingly complex imaging and production projects independently, improve SLA performance, actively troubleshoot creative and technical challenges, manage daily requirements with minimal support, and build efficiency in template use.
  • First year: Become the go-to expert for complex imaging and production challenges, mentor others on advanced techniques, handle extended responsibilities (material specifications, CI, multi-client workflows), and drive innovation across the end-to-end print fulfilment process.
