Job Summary/Key Purpose
Responsible for leading the conduct of design on the Civil and Architectural portion of the Substation, Transmission Lines, and Renewable Energy Projects. Proactively identify special solutions and studies that innovatively solve unique and complex design problems. Contribute to the development and execution of the Division's strategy. The position requires use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precept and practices in the field of civil and architectural design.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads the execution of the more complicated detail design activities, i.e., design criteria, tower loading diagram, site development, foundation designs, structural evaluation, station layout design, facilities design, complex design studies, bill of materials, technical data sheets, specifications and production of construction drawings of various projects.
- Initiates the preparation, packaging and completion of the bid documents and/or bid proposals for Projects involving civil and architectural works, and liaises with other groups to ensure the full scope is covered.
- Spearheads the review of the design documents, manufacturers/contractors drawings submitted for review and approval relative to the implementation of the project.
- Prepares design methodologies, memoranda, reports, and correspondences.
- Undertakes the evaluation of design options to achieve the best possible balance between cost and design option, and submitted the subsequent recommendation for Management approval.
- Ensures consistency by performing inter-discipline design review and adhering to design specification, guidelines and standards.
- Attends appropriate technical meetings either site or office based to ensures end user satisfaction.
- Conducts actual inspection of sites and collaborates in assessing technical problems in the construction and/or operation and recommends solutions to such problems.
- Collaborate with Hansei various suppliers/partners in developing Hansei technical and commercial proposal as well as collaboration during project implementation.
- Attend witnessing of equipment/material Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) to ensure specification compliance.
- Conduct continuous research to keep abreast with the latest design technology
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned.
