The Power Platform Engineer provides software development capability and specialist Microsoft Power Platform knowledge, supporting the delivery of major enhancements and day-to-day operational needs. The role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and D365.

The successful candidate will champion best practices in solution design, development, and secure coding, ensuring that enhancements and operational changes meet or exceed business and customer expectations. This includes balancing strategic intent, commercial outcomes, speed, cost, and quality.

The engineer will also liaise directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, participate in Scrum ceremonies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across DevOps and enterprise environments, ensuring stability, scalability, and security.

Solution Design & Development
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable solutions using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Pages, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
  • Configure and customize D365 Sales and Service modules, including plugins, workflows, and JavaScript enhancements.
  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with Azure components (Logic Apps, Functions, APIs) and external systems.
  • Implement secure data models, business rules, and automation aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Participate in design workshops with business users to define requirements and propose feasible, scalable solutions.
  • Undertake system analysis, solution, and technical design activities with high-quality documentation and realistic work estimates.
  • Ensure proposed designs comply with the enterprise architecture, security standards, and Microsoft best practices.
Support & Operations
  • Manage support tickets, troubleshoot incidents, and provide timely resolutions for production issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and propose long-term fixes for recurring issues.
  • Participate in release and environment management, including solution deployment, configuration updates, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage Power Platform environments and ensure application uptime, performance, and compliance with ITSM processes.
  • Write and maintain documentation per defined standards (high-level, design, technical, etc.).

DevOps, Security & Continuous Improvement
  • Manage ALM pipelines in Azure DevOps for build and deployment automation.
  • Participate in security and compliance audits, ensuring adherence to data protection, access governance, and secure coding practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in solution performance, maintainability, and automation.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and explore emerging Power Platform capabilities (AI Builder, Copilot).
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and stakeholders to align solutions with business goals.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Prepare technical documentation, release notes, and user support materials.
  • Provide technical input to solution roadmaps and contribute to cross-team DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Champion the adoption of Power Platform services and ensure best-practice design and development approaches are consistently applied.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including presentations and workshops.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as directed by the Power Platform Tech Manager.

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse).
  • Extensive development experience including JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, C#, .NET, HTML, ASP.NET, RESTful Web Services, Power BI, and Microsoft Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, Key Vault).
  • In-depth knowledge of D365 Sales and Customer Service modules, SDK customization, and .NET plugin development.
  • Experienced in configuration, customization, and integration of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, managed/unmanaged solutions, ALM governance, and source control (Git / Azure DevOps Repos).
  • Good understanding of Power BI integration and data modeling (desirable).
  • Advanced strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing change and multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experienced with Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of developing PCF controls advantageous.

Qualifications:
  • Bacheloru0027s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience developing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Power Platform or D365 solutions.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and enterprise DevOps environments.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications and/or Power Platform certifications highly regarded.
