Your impact
As part of our Global Delivery Center (GDC), you'll be at the heart of delivering high-impact energy and power projects across the globe. We're seeking a Power Plant Engineer to lead the design of lead the thermal design scope for major power generation projects, from concept, FEED to Detailed Engineering. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside design team members in the United States to produce detailed design documents and perform construction phase engineering services.
- Lead the thermal design scope for major power generation projects, from concept, FEED to Detailed Engineering.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
- Collaborate with project managers, EPC contractors, and OEMs to align design with project goals.
- Develop and review detailed engineering designs for power island components (e.g., turbines, HRSGs, condensers, piping systems).
- Perform thermodynamic and fluid flow calculations to optimize system efficiency.
- Create and validate PFDs, P&IDs, and 3D models using CAD and simulation tools.
- Specify materials, equipment, and instrumentation in accordance with project requirements and codes (e.g., ASME, API, IEC).
- Ensure seamless integration of power island systems with balance-of-plant (BOP) and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with electrical, civil, and control engineers to align design interfaces.
- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and design reports.
- Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with design intent and project standards.
- Provide design input during feasibility studies, FEED, and detailed engineering phases.
- Support procurement, construction, and commissioning teams with technical clarifications and design modifications.
- Identify opportunities for design improvements, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and design methodologies for application in new projects.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, or Energy Engineering (with a master's degree would be an added advantage).
- Minimum 10 relevant years of experience related to EPC -Thermal Power Plants, Power Generation Sector in COMBINED CYCLE GAS TURBINE or Thermal projects.
- A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent), with a master's degree would be an added advantage.
- Preferably licensed by the official regulating body of the engineering profession, or a member of a professional association.
- Excellent communication skills and a good team player
- Of utmost importance for all positions besides technical skills are tact and cultural empathy in order to form a beneficial work climate with the Client and Site Staff
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, IEC).
- Experience working with EPC contractors and OEMs is a plus.
