The Opportunity
We're looking for a remote Power BI / Data Reporting Specialist to build and maintain reporting dashboards that power data-driven decisions across the organization. Working within a modern Microsoft data ecosystem — including Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, and Microsoft Fabric — you'll ensure that data from the company's centralized data lake is accurately visualized, structured, and accessible through Power BI.
This role is ideal for an execution-focused reporting specialist who thrives on technical precision, enjoys working behind the scenes to keep systems running smoothly, and takes pride in delivering reliable dashboards that leadership can trust. Unlike traditional business analyst roles, this position is not responsible for interpreting business data or presenting insights — it's about ensuring the reporting infrastructure functions reliably and delivers accurate dashboards to internal stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Power BI Dashboard Development
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards connected to the company's data lake
- Configure visualizations and reporting views for internal stakeholders
- Ensure data displays correctly across operational dashboards
- Support real-time reporting for business operations
Data Validation & Reporting Integrity
- Validate that data flows correctly from Microsoft Fabric into Power BI
- Identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in reporting outputs
- Maintain clean and accurate reporting structures
- Ensure reporting logic remains consistent with underlying data sources
Reporting Infrastructure Support
- Work with data engineers to maintain reporting pipelines
- Support improvements to reporting architecture
- Maintain data relationships used within reporting models
- Ensure dashboards remain stable as new systems are integrated
Data Integration Support
- Assist in connecting additional systems to the central data lake
- Help integrate data from external tools such as marketing platforms, safety systems, and operational tools
- Ensure new data sources appear correctly within reporting dashboards
- Support initiatives such as lead attribution tracking, operational performance monitoring, and safety analytics
Reporting Maintenance & Optimization
- Monitor performance of dashboards and reports
- Optimize dashboard performance and refresh schedules
- Maintain organized report structures and documentation
- Support ongoing reporting improvements as business needs evolve
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Proven experience with Microsoft Power BI (required)
- Experience working within Microsoft data ecosystems, including Microsoft Fabric, data lake environments, and data warehouse concepts
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Business Central, or other ERP/CRM platforms
- Proficiency in SQL or equivalent data querying tools
- Working knowledge of data modeling concepts
- Strong attention to detail when working with data structures and reporting models
- Systems thinking — understands how different systems connect and how data flows through them
- Execution-oriented mindset focused on building, maintaining, and improving reporting infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving ability to troubleshoot data inconsistencies and reporting issues
- Collaborative approach when working with data engineers and operational leaders
