Job Description

The Medical City Iloilo is looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Recovery Room Staff Nurse who will play a vital role in providing safe, timely, and high-quality nursing care to patients immediately following surgical procedures. This role supports patient stabilization, monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery in a fast-paced perioperative environmentaligned with our commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

What's the Role All About

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the post-anesthesia recovery phase.

Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status closely during the recovery period.

Assess and manage post-operative pain, nausea, and other immediate post-surgical complications.

Administer medications, IV fluids, and other prescribed therapies safely and accurately.

Operate and monitor specialized equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors as needed.

Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including participating in life-saving interventions when necessary.

Ensure accurate, complete, and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and recovery progress.

Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative nurses to ensure seamless patient handover.

Maintain strict adherence to infection control, patient safety, and post-anesthesia care protocols.

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered care, including education and emotional support.

Qualifications

Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid PRC license.

Preferably with at least one (1) year of experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ICU, OR, or Critical Care settings.

BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS or TNCC certification is an advantage.

Skilled in post-operative patient monitoring, pain management, and emergency response.

Proficient in clinical documentation and hospital electronic medical record systems.

Willing to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment with shifting schedules.
