Role Overview:
As a PHP Web Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and developing new features for a marketplace platform. You will work within a small team, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to ongoing improvements in performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain platform features using PHP (7/8), AngularJS, AWS, and MySQL
- Work on a dedicated Jira board and collaborate with project managers and stakeholders
- Develop and test new features following best practices and SDLC processes
- Ensure performance, accessibility, and security standards are met
- Troubleshoot application and infrastructure performance issues
- Implement and maintain third-party data integrations and large dataset processing
- Provide technical input, estimates, and recommendations to product teams
- Contribute to code quality, documentation, and automated testing initiatives
- Mentor junior developers and support team collaboration
- Participate in agile activities (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.)
- Handle system updates, security patches, and package upgrades
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional software development experience (full-stack)
- Strong proficiency in PHP, AngularJS, AWS (ECS, EC2, RDS), and MySQL
- Experience working with complex or legacy codebases
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup
Nice to Have:
- Experience with JavaScript alongside PHP
- Background in marketplace or listing platforms
- Experience with codebase modernization and performance optimization
Work Setup:
- Full-time remote role
- Night shift with required overlap
