Job Summary:

The Pharma Business Manager is responsible for driving the strategic growth, operational excellence, and financial performance of the pharmaceutical business across Healthway Medical Network's hospitals and clinics.

This role will lead the end-to-end management of the pharma businesscovering commercial strategy, supplier and partner management, pricing and margin optimization, inventory performance, and compliancewhile working closely with hospital leadership, clinical teams, supply chain, finance, and external partners. The role does not have direct people management responsibilities but requires strong cross-functional collaboration and influence.

Key Responsibilities:

Pharma Business Strategy Growth

  • Develop and execute the pharma business strategy for HMN hospitals and clinics in alignment with AC Health and HMN objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue, margins, and market competitiveness of hospital and clinic pharmacy operations.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing benchmarks, and demand patterns to support strategic decision-making.

Commercial and Financial Performance

  • Drive sales performance, profitability, and cost optimization of pharmaceutical products across facilities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, margins, inventory turnover, shrinkage, and stock availability.
  • Work with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis related to the pharma business.

Supplier and Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers, distributors, and partners to ensure competitive pricing, reliable supply, and favorable commercial terms.
  • Support contract negotiations, trade agreements, and promotional programs in coordination with Procurement and Legal.
  • Ensure alignment of supplier programs with HMN's clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Operations and Inventory Optimization

  • Collaborate with hospital and clinic pharmacy teams to ensure optimal inventory levels, product availability, and reduced expiries.
  • Support the standardization of pharmacy processes, product assortments, and pricing strategies across HMN facilities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and patient access.

Regulatory, Compliance and Quality

  • Ensure compliance with Philippine FDA regulations, hospital pharmacy standards, and internal AC Health policies.
  • Work with Quality and Clinical teams to support safe, ethical, and compliant pharma operations.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Reporting

  • Act as the key pharma business partner to hospital administrators, clinic heads, pharmacy teams, supply chain, finance, and corporate leadership.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, insights, and recommendations to management.
  • Support new hospital or clinic openings, expansions, and integration initiatives related to pharmacy operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
  • Licensed Pharmacist is an advantage but not required
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in pharma business management, hospital pharmacy operations, pharmaceutical sales, or healthcare commercial roles
  • Experience working with hospitals, clinics, or healthcare networks is highly preferred
  • Proven track record in managing P&L, commercial performance, or pharma portfolios

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong business acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains, pricing, and regulatory requirements in the Philippines
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Analytical, data-driven, and results-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
