Job Summary
The People Operations Specialist (Compensation & Benefits) is responsible for delivering day-to-day compensation, benefits, payroll coordination, and people operations services. The role ensures the accurate and timely administration of employee movements, payroll inputs, government-mandated and company-sponsored benefits, HR records, and related reports while maintaining compliance with company policies and labor regulations.
The Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for routine employee and stakeholder inquiries, maintains accurate HR data, supports compensation and benefits programs, and contributes to continuous process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.
Duties And Responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits Administration
- Administer company-sponsored benefits, including HMO, insurance, employee loans, incentives, wellness programs, and employee recognition initiatives.
- Process government-mandated benefits while ensuring timely compliance with statutory requirements.
- Coordinate benefit enrollments, updates, cancellations, and employee eligibility.
- Support employee inquiries related to compensation and benefits and coordinate resolutions with internal teams and external providers.
- Assist in benefits orientations, roadshows, and employee communications.
Payroll & Timekeeping
- Prepare and validate payroll and bi-monthly timekeeping inputs.
- Review payroll-related records for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
- Process payroll adjustments, deductions, corrections, and employee movement requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee information across HRIS and payroll systems.
- Facilitate end-to-end payroll account opening, including employee documentation and bank coordination.
- Support payroll issue resolution through timely coordination with stakeholders.
People Operations
- Process employee movements including promotions, salary adjustments, transfers, contract amendments, allowance changes, and employee agreements.
- Maintain accurate compensation, benefits, payroll, and employee records.
- Prepare recurring HR reports, trackers, invoicing reports, and operational documentation.
- Draft routine compensation and benefits communications, notices, and supporting documents.
- Ensure documentation complies with company standards and recordkeeping requirements.
Rewards & Compensation Support
- Support annual compensation review activities.
- Assist in salary benchmarking and market research.
- Support implementation of company reward and recognition programs.
- Administer client-specific incentive and bonus programs.
- Monitor benefit utilization and prepare reports for management review.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Identify opportunities to improve day-to-day compensation and benefits processes.
- Maintain and update process documentation, work instructions, and trackers.
- Participate in projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support testing and implementation of new HR systems and operational workflows when assigned.
- Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Build collaborative relationships with employees, managers, internal stakeholders, government agencies, and external providers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of operational requirements.
- Deliver responsive, professional, and service-oriented support while maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
Requirements
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in CompenBen
- Had experience with benefits administration (vendor vetting, HMO/life insurance enrollment, cancellation, renewal, rollout), and helpdesk (ticket handling)
- Had experience handling payroll, without the requirement of processing the payroll register or computing payroll manually, but that is an advantage
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Showcases great stakeholder (internal and external) management skills
