Job Description Summary:
The PCB Engineer/Librarian will be based in Cebu and is a part of a globally distributed team. Particular focus will be in the area of PCB design. Required by the position is basic knowledge in PCB layout and design.
The position will involve close team working with others including other electronics engineers, mechanical engineers and product managers.
The PCB Engineer/Librarian should be able to work independently and be able to effectively communicate their work to others (presentations, written reports, mock-ups, prototypes and verbal presentations).
Key responsibilities include:
- Layout multilayer printed circuit boards while meeting established design rules, methodology and quality standards of the Hardware Development process using Cadence Allegro tools.
- Apply electronic circuit knowledge, specific layout requirements and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) standards to board layout and identifying basic design errors.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to define and verify board outline, mounting holes, keep-out areas and height constraints
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to define project scheduling, parts placement, trace routing and power distribution requirements.
- Generate schematic drawing, BOM, gerber package, bare board documentation and assembly documentation for PCB manufacturing
- Propose and implement improvements to the existing CAD process and CAD library standards
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Electronics Engineering or graduate of a related field with equivalent experience
- Good understanding in electronic principles of PCB design, particularly for signal integrity and EMC.
- Competence using PCB CAD tools, preferably Cadence
- Good written and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in PCB Library management is a plus
