We are seeking a meticulous and dependable Payroll Specialist to join a highly innovative global People Team. Operating in a full-time remote capacity, you will take autonomous ownership of global cross-border salary distribution, regulatory compliance, and system reconciliations. Your Impact
- Global Payroll Architecture: Manage and execute bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll processing for employees across multiple countries, ensuring absolute accuracy and timeliness in line with localized requirements and internal deadlines.
- Data Integrity & Audit Validation: Review, audit, and validate multi-layered payroll inputs-including digital timesheets, statutory benefit deductions, variable commissions, bonuses, and localized compensation inputs.
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Coordinate the precise, timely system processing of new hire profiles, employee terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, and strategic compensation actions within the central database.
- Cross-Functional Reconciliation: Partner closely with internal People and Accounting teams to optimize the flow of employee data and payroll accounting. Reconcile payroll outputs, resolve ledger discrepancies, and ensure accurate funding and reporting.
- Tax Architecture & Year-End Close: Own and lead tax reporting and complex year-end payroll procedures. Oversee the structural preparation, compliance checking, and seamless distribution of Form W-2s or country-specific equivalents.
- Compliance Safeguarding: Ensure strict alignment with all applicable wage and hour laws, including FLSA and specific regional requirements. Maintain a high standard of data security and keep payroll archives completely audit-ready for internal and external reviews.
- Stakeholder Support & Reporting: Serve as a dependable, helpful resource for employee inquiries regarding compensation, withholding taxes, and documentation. Generate ad hoc analytics reports using advanced Excel formulas (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) to support audits, compliance, and management decision-making.
What You Bring
- The Experience:5+ years of dedicated experience in payroll processing or a related corporate financial role, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy, technical ownership, and schedule discipline.
- Multi-Country Competency (Highly Preferred): Practical working knowledge of multi-country payroll workflows and tax frameworks across regions such as the US, Canada, Costa Rica, UK, Germany, and Australia.
- Ecosystem Familiarity: Prior hands-on experience navigating enterprise-level payroll platforms and HRIS environments (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar cloud applications).
- Advanced Analytical Excel Skills: Strong critical thinking capabilities paired with the ability to slice, cross-reference, and audit large volumes of sensitive financial and personal data without breaking a sweat.
- Communication & Discretion: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, critical for explaining complex tax variables to stakeholders. You possess a deeply ingrained respect for maintaining vault-level data confidentiality and handling sensitive data with integrity.
