Payroll Specialist (Contract)

Location: Remote (Pacific Time – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

Schedule: 40 hours per week (bi-weekly cycle)

Duration: Ongoing Contract (No End Date)

Overview

We are seeking two Payroll Specialists to support a high-volume, multi-state payroll operation. This is a long-term contract role supporting payroll across 6 states and approximately 6,000 employees across 200 restaurant locations.

Schedule & Structure

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time
• 40 hours per week (bi-weekly cycle)
• Off payroll week: Review and validate new hire data
• Payroll week: Full payroll processing and execution

Key Responsibilities

• Review new hire documentation and ensure I-9 compliance
• Validate and process payroll accurately and on schedule
• Manage payroll for assigned states: WA, OR, UT, ID, NC, SC
• Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations
• Partner closely with the Payroll Lead (based in Woodinville, WA)
• Support payroll processing for 6,000 employees

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of U.S. payroll experience
• Experience in processing multi-state payroll
• Hands-on experience with an automated payroll system

Preferred Qualifications

• Paycom experience preferred (not required)
