Overview
The Payroll Specialist will support the 3 rd party payroll processor and maintain employee time records, including vacation and sick leave records.
What Will You Do
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the Company's payroll system and time system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
- Ensures timecards are entered and approved.
- Reconciles payroll to regulatory payroll filings filed by 3 rd party
- Works with 3 rd party to rectify payroll issues due to payroll errors or final discharge.
- Able to reconcile and provide payroll information to 3 rd party by required deadlines to support processing of employee payroll within the required time for over 100 employees.
- Experience with UKG payroll a plus
- Experience with and knowledge of local payroll tax laws
- Able to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented role with multiple weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
What You Will Need
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (xlookups, pivots, formulas).
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least 3 years of experience in payroll.
