We are seeking a highly precise, detail-driven Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll operations for multiple international entities. In this role, you will take charge of complex Australian payroll processing-utilizing Wageloch and Xero-while managing statutory compliance requirements like Single Touch Payroll (STP), PAYG, and payroll tax lodgments. Operating entirely remotely on a stable day shift, this role is perfect for a self-managed, service-oriented professional who brings an analytical mindset to payroll reconciliations and a high level of accountability to client delivery.

Your Impact

• Multi-Entity Payroll Processing: Execute end-to-end payroll processing for multiple businesses from time-tracking software to accounting platforms (currently Wageloch to Xero), and prepare accurate bank files for authorization.

• Employee Lifecycle Maintenance: Update employee details, adjust pay rates as directed by business owners, manage casual staff compliance, and process technical termination calculations.

• Leave & Entitlements Administration: Oversee the calculation, tracking, and processing of specialized leave entitlements, including Paid Parental Leave and Long Service Leave.

• Australian Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate data generation for Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions, Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholding reporting, and regional payroll tax lodgments with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

• Data Integrity & Reconciliations: Perform exhaustive payroll data reviews, execute complex payroll ledger reconciliations, and drive the comprehensive Year-End Payroll close process.

• Audit & Query Resolution: Investigate internal and external payroll discrepancies with a high sense of urgency, provide best-practice resolutions, and assist with compliance audits and reviews.

What You Bring

• The Experience:2+ years of solid experience providing payroll services, with a proven high level of proficiency in alphanumeric data entry, system administration, and workflow organization.

• Systems Knowledge: Hands-on familiarity with cloud accounting platforms and workforce management systems. Direct experience with Xero and Wageloch is highly advantageous.

• Professional Attributes: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, sharp attention to detail, high emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of urgency when handling time-sensitive financial deadlines.

• Communication & Collaboration: Clear written and verbal English communication skills, complete with a customer-centric service orientation and the capability to manage conflicting data or timelines smoothly.

• Credentials: A Diploma of Payroll Services, a Certificate IV in Payroll, or a Bachelor's degree in a finance-related discipline is highly preferred.
